Joseph P. Walsh, II is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Walsh & Associates. As a successful entrepreneur in the restaurant industry, Mr. Walsh began his education in the financial field to better manage his own wealth accumulation.
His studies include an undergraduate degree in personnel management and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in finance from Northern Illinois University, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®)1 from the College for Financial Planning in Denver Colorado, and CHARTERED FINANCIAL ADVISOR (CFA®) from the Institute for Investment Management Research Charlottesville Virginia. In addition, Joe has training on advanced trust and estate strategies earning the CERTIFIED TRUST AND FINANCIAL ADVISOR (CTFA®) from the Institute of Certified Bankers a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association in Washington, D.C. He has also earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) from The Center for Fiduciary Studies, including fiduciary planning for foundations, endowments and trusts. He has also earned the CERTIFIED PRIVATE WEALTH ADVISOR (CPWA®) from the Investment Management Consultants Association, Inc.
Joe Walsh is passionate about education, for himself, the team of professionals that comprise Walsh & Associates, the clients that he serves and the community in general. Joe is a frequent speaker on many financial topics relevant to comprehensive wealth management – including planning for a tax-advantaged estate transfer, planning for the terminally ill, making provisions for “special needs” children, managing risk in an investment portfolio, charitable giving techniques, advanced trust and estate strategies and striving for worry free retirement planning. Around the country Joe has taught at many colleges and is an adjunct instructor for the College for Financial Planning.
In Illinois, Joe was a past president of and a former board member of the Chicago-O’Hare Council of Financial Planners Association as well as past president of the DeKalb County Estate Planning Council. Now as a resident of Sarasota, Joe is a member of the Longboat Key Kiwanis and the Longboat, Lido, St. Armand’s Key Chamber of Commerce and the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. Joe is currently a volunteer instructor for Sarasota Adult Community Enrichment (ACE) at Sarasota County Technical Institute. As an advocate for strategic, objective financial guidance, Joe is committed to greater community involvement in financial education.
